Every Realtor and Loan Officer NEEDS their own website, but not everyone has the same website needs

Finally… we're doing the real estate agent websites episode. I've wanted to do a show devoted to real estate websites for a long time, and this week is the week.

Ultimately, I believe that every Real Estate Agent and Mortgage Loan Officer needs their own website. It's a must, for many different reasons including, but not limited to…

  • Your website is like your online business card. It's the one online property that no one can take from you; you own it, and you aren't relying on a social network or an algorithm.
  • Your website is like your online “Home Base.”
  • You can install your Facebook tracking Pixel and your Google Tag on it and use that data to create Facebook custom audiences for highly-effective retargeting ads later.
  • Home search! You can't be found organically when someone searches a specific listing address unless your website has IDX Home Search on it!
  • Monetization of the website from ads, affiliate marketing, sponsorships, etc

Not One Size Fits All

But not everyone has the same website needs, and one size does not fit all. We'll tell you which website providers are a great value, and which ones flat out suck and should be avoided.

We'll also help you to figure out what your needs are; what your overall strategy is so that you can choose a website that fits your needs. A Realtor planning to build a local media company with tons of content needs more features and customization than a Realtor who just wants a basic home search website. We'll walk you through some website options for both approaches.

You'll hear the story of the very first website I got as an agent, and how I quickly learned that you absolutely get what you pay for. It ended up being a terrible experience with a website provider through my brokerage, but in hindsight, it taught me what I actually need in a website.

I have been with the same website company for over 4 years now, and I'll explain exactly why I chose them and whether or not they would be a good fit for you too. This website provider gave me the tools that I needed to create this powerful article about Moving to Salt Lake City that rocketed to #1 on Page 1 of Google, stayed there for nearly 2 years, and directly led to over $100,000 in commission over the next couple of years.

There's so much to unpack on the topic of real estate websites, and this week, we did our best to break down everything you need to know.
