Realtors, you need to ask yourselves, is the gift you're giving about them, or about you?

When you give a gift to a client, are you making them feel special? Does the gift make them feel like you truly wanted to do something nice for THEM? Or does your choice of gift make it all about you? If it's the latter, you may actually be damaging your relationship with them. It's important that real estate agents really think this through before giving any more gifts to clients this holiday season, or any other time for that matter.

This is the time of year that when we are talking about gifts, we are talking about the holiday-centered and relationship-centered gifts. And where we have a MASSIVE problem in this industry is confusing when and when not to push an agenda. When you give a gift to someone in your personal life, you do not have to BRAND on the item itself has your face and name on it! So why are we as real estate agents doing that with our clients in our industry?

It is just plain ole WEIRD.

So in this episode Phil Treadwell and I talk about the massive mistakes that we see on a daily basis from agents from closing gifts to “thoughtful” gifts for holidays and birthdays and how we can avoid them.

No one wants to receive their Realtor's tax deduction; they want a meaningful gift thats about them.

The idea of “pop by” gifts, in theory and in practice is… let's just say it… CREEPY.  So how can we change our behaviors to add value and thought back into our gifts for the people we serve and other business relationships? We completely unpack all of that in this episode! We are in a different time, and it's time we act like it.
