This week's show is different; It's a call to arms for everyone in the real estate industry.

We need to talk about some serious issues and headwinds facing our entire profession. Both real estate agents AND mortgage loan officers need to pay attention. We, as a whole, are being attacked like never before… class action lawsuits attacking Realtor commissions, margin compression on the mortgage side, Zillow, Opendoor, technology, AI, automation, giant multi-hundred Billion $ companies taking aim (like Amazon!!), and more. Couple that with the economy being 5 years overdue for a recession, and we have a giant pile of shit just waiting to hit the proverbial fan. It can get really, really ugly for us, real fast, if we as an industry continue much further with our collective heads in our asses. But have no fear, we do have a shot to remove our heads from our asses and protect ourselves.

If real estate agents and mortgage loan officers start working together right now, and start doing the right things, we'll be able to survive. Most of our competitors? Not so much.

Honestly, some of this stuff is pretty scary if you don't have a defense plan, and this week we're not sugar coating anything. If you're worried, that's probably a good thing. Use that fear and worry about your future to inspire you to adopt the necessary marketing strategy. There is a solution and a defense for us, but it's going to take us ALL joining forces right now… not just real estate agents alone, and not just mortgage lenders alone; ALL OF US TOGETHER.

It's about damn time we stop focusing only on ourselves as Realtors, or as mortgage loan originators, and start learning how to work together to build our businesses and gain the trust of the consumer, despite any fancy new app that may come out.

Someone needs to be the voice of ALL of us, not just Agents or not just lenders. So I'm stepping up. In coming weeks, you'll learn more about something I've been working on called Industry: Connected.

Eyes open, it's game time. Time to put on your big boy pants and address this shit.
