The real estate industry is changing right under our feet, and countless Silicon Valley tech behemoths have taken aim at disrupting how our industry works. One of the reasons is that they see a broken system, with so much money to be made, and not all consumers being served with a great experience. The negative way that so many consumers view Realtors is a problem. So we discuss whether or not there's ever an acceptable scenario where a listing agent sues a seller to make them accept an offer, so the listing agent gets paid.
Byron and I talk at length about Zillow‘s new Flex Program, and the announcement last week that Amazon has partnered up with real estate brokerage conglomerate Realogy. That's correct; Amazon has officially entered the real estate industry.
The majority of the conversation revolves around the SOLUTION to all this. We talk specifically about what the average Realtor can and should be doing to insulate themself from whatever market share Zillow, Opendoor, and Amazon may take. Luckily for us, by doing certain things now, we can ensure that we thrive while most of our competitors eventually go out of business.
