Realtors are like general contractors. We oversee the entire real estate transaction on behalf of our clients. Part of that is choosing the other players in the transaction, like our “subcontractors”. We have a say in the mortgage lender that our client chooses, and tey rely on us to recommend a title company or closing attorney to handle the paperwork, record the sale, and distribute the $ where it needs to go.
Our role in the real estate transaction is crucial, and the partners that we bring into the transaction can make or break the whole thing. Anyone who doesn't think the title company matters very much is just flat wrong.
